Now that you’ve been at home for what feels like a forever, is your bathroom feeling a bit boring and blah?
Good news is that you don’t need a reno to give it a complete update, as long as you’re willing to put in some elbow grease.
We are sharing our best tips below on how to update your bathroom without splurging on a reno.
We promise that these subtle tweaks will create big changes to your bath you’re definitely going to notice and love.

1. Dress Your Walls.
This is an easy way to make a big impact to your space. You can paint your walls in a different colour. You could also introduce a beautiful or funky new wallpaper in your bathroom.
2. Update or double up on your mirror.
Another relatively easy update unless you have a bathroom that has been glued to the wall with construction adhesive. Yep, I had that it in a bathroom in my first condo.
That unfortunately will require a little demo but if you’re brave and can do it carefully, you can create a gorgeous new feature wall in your bathroom by pairing this tip with the one above and the one below.
If you currently have one big mirror spanning double sinks, you could introduce two mirrors over the sinks for something different.
3. Change your light fixtures.
This is another easy change to make in your bath. Switch out your existing light fixtures for something new.
There are lots of great options at various price points for bathroom lighting.

4. Introduce new accessories.
What do we mean by accessories? Everything from a new tooth brush holder to soap dish to shower curtain and more. Find a fancy new carpet for the floor or an organizer for the shower. Mix and match rather than buying as a set to create a more curated look.
5. Switch up your hardware.
What hardware, you say? We mean everything from your towel bar to toilet paper holder to knobs and pulls on your vanity.
Choose hardware that is fancy or luxe to create that high end feel in your bathroom. Or change from chrome to gold or antique brass.
6. Change the faucets and shower hardware.
Did you know you can change up your shower Spout? I didn’t know this until I got ready to sell my first home. It’s super easy to do too!
Change the colour of the faucet on the vanity and match the shower hardware to it. You can also coordinate faucet and shower with the other hardware in this space like the towel bar and vanity handles and knobs.
7. Create a floor to ceiling tile backsplash.
This tip is the last for a reason. It requries a bit more work and likely a bit more expensive to do.
A tile backsplash that runs the full height of the wall can create a lot of drama and will have a big impact in your bathroom overall.
For best results, mix and match our tips to create a grand new look and make your heart sing every time you open the bathroom door!
