Janet’s Living Room Transformation

Virtual Interior Design Project

Janet reached out to us after she and her husband had finished renovating their main floor. They wanted to be able to re-use some of their existing furniture and were seeking a more up-to-date look for their home with a new colour palette, mixing in some new furniture and help with styling.

We started this project by first selecting tile options for the fireplace surround and the front entryway floor that set the tone for the colour palette for the whole floor.

We drew from our clients affinity for neutral and earthy tones to create a modern farmhouse/coastal meets a pop of mid-century modern style that is designed to be comfortable to live in and make their guests take notice.

How It Works

Virtual Interior Design Service

STEP 1: SAVE YOUR SPOT

After booking the service you will be sent a link to book a call for our first strategy session via zoom.

During this call we’ll talk about the big picture vision for your project and discuss what a realistic budget may look like to achieve your vision. 

STEP 2: PROJECT KICKOFF

It’s all systems ready to go! You’ll get an invite from us to schedule your project kick-off call. 

Before this call, we’ll give you access to your own account on our online platform and ask you to fill out a form that will allow you to upload pictures and measurements of your space and share your pinterest board. 

STEP 3: INITIAL DESIGN CONCEPT

Once your initial design concept is ready, you’ll get a notification via our online platform to check it out. We’ll also send you a message asking you to schedule your Initial Design Review call.

During the call, we’ll talk about what you like and dislike about the initial concepts and what you want to see in the first revision.

STEP 4: REVISIONS

As soon as your revision is ready to review, you’ll get a notification from our platform. We’ll also send you a message asking you to schedule your Revision Review call.

During the call, we’ll talk about what you like and dislike about the first revision and what you want to see in the final revision.

STEP 5: FINAL DESIGN CONCEPT

Your final design concept is ready! We’ll also send you a message asking you to schedule your Final Design Review call.

During the call, we’ll talk about the next steps, review your furnishing list in detail and go over the installation guide with you.

STEP 6: DELIVERY & INSTALL

Ooh…it’s the exciting part!!!

Once you have paid for your order in full, we’ll get everything delivered right to your door. You’ll feel like it’s Christmas.

If you requested assistance with your installation, we will share a quote for the installation and arrange for a date.

If you’re tackling the installation on your own, you have the installation guide that we provided you and you can schedule a call with us anytime if you have a question or just need a little guidance.

STEP 7: FINISHING TOUCHES

It’s a wrap!

We’ll schedule a quick call with you to walk through your new space and give you any last minute tips or tweaks you can make to your space.

1. CAN YOU REALLY DESIGN A HOME VIRTUALLY, WITHOUT STEPPING FOOT IN MY HOME?

Yes!! It’s 2023, right? Before I started Daakor, I was an expert in technology and systems helping big corporations find more efficient ways to deliver services.

I used that same expertise to create a process and a platform that works together to simplify the designing and furnishing of your home. 

We ask you to provide photos and dimensions of your space along with some additional info to help us understand everything about your space. And we are not shy to ask for more info if we think that we’re missing a piece of the puzzle. 

2. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO WORK WITH YOU?

Your first project with us will be an investment of about $1900 + the cost of your furinture. Schedule your intro call to learn more about our current promotions and how you can save on your furniture.

3. HOW MUCH SHOULD I BUDGET? DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM BUDGET YOU WORK WITH?

Budgeting for a home furnishing project can be stressful. It’s not something you do often, right? We can help you create a budget that will set you (and us) to successfully achieve the vision you have for your home. In fact, we have a guide you can download right here. 

Our minimum budget is $2500. But that’s often too low for the scope of what most of our clients are trying to achieve. If we take you on as a client, we’ll ask you to set a budget that’s realistic for what you are trying to achieve and sets us up to deliver successfully. 

We want you to be happy with the end result of the design process. So much so that we aim for you to be SOOOOOO  ecstatic that you tell all your friends about us. If we can’t do that with the budget you have in mind, we’ll tell you that before we begin.

4. CAN YOU USE MY EXISTING PIECES?

Yes, we often do this with our clients. 

We’ll do our best to use any existing pieces you have. If for any reason we don’t think that your existing furniture will help you achieve the end result you’re after, we’ll discuss that with you during the kick-off call for your project. 

5. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY SPACE DONE?

It usually takes about 3-4 weeks to get your design finalized depending on how quickly you’re available for feedback. For larger projects, this timeline will extend a little bit depending on the volume of active projects we have. We’ll set expectations on the timeline during the kick-off call for your project. 

Once you’ve paid for your furniture, most items will be delivered to you within 6-8 weeks. However, we are still seeing some longer delays of shipments with certain vendors. We keep you in the loop and can offer alternatives if you don’t want to wait. 

Installations timing varies depending on the scope of work that needs to be completed to achieve the design vision.

6. WHAT IF I ONLY WANT TO GET ONE ROOM DESIGNED?

Great. We’d love that! We take on projects that are just one room, a few rooms or a whole house.

7. CAN YOU HELP WITH THE INSTALLATION?

Yes, we can give you a quote for the installation once the design has been finalized. 

Installations are usually the most costly part of getting a home designed professionally. That’s because it’s usually the most labor intensive part of the process. 

We give you the flexibility to do this part on your own. But if you need help with the installation, ask us to give you a quote when we review the final design with you. 

If you already have trades or contractors ready to do the work, we can help you guide them so you can achieve the vision that was designed for your space. 

8. WHAT IF I DON’T LOVE THE DESIGN?

It usually takes about 1 or 2 revisions before we get to a design that will make your heart melt. We ask for a little patience and to communicate with us if you’re not happy about anything during the design process. We will check-in with you often throughout the project to make sure that we haven’t missed anything too. 

If you’re not happy, we haven’t done our job. We will work with you to make your home a place you love. We are not done until you’re happy. That’s our happiness guarantee. 

9. I WANT TO REMODEL MY KITCHEN OR BATH. CAN YOU HELP?

Yes. We do take on kitchen and bath design projects that don’t involve structural changes like taking down walls and moving utilities. If this is something you’re interested in, let’s chat.

If you’re not happy, we haven’t done our job. We will work with you to make your home a place you love. We are not done until you’re happy. That’s our happiness guarantee.
